June is Deafblind Awareness Month in Canada!

To recognize Deafblind Awareness Month in Canada – The 3D Toronto Sign will be lit up in blue for 24 hours on June 12th during JuneFest. In addition, the Toronto City Hall Towers will be lit dusk till dawn

The “JT Award” recognizes significant contributions to the Canadian deafblind community by a deserving individual, consumer group or service provider who has demonstrated excellence in at least one of the categories of: Awareness to the disability of deafblindness, Expansion to available services and programs, and ensured consumer Involvement at all levels.

2010 – Joyce Thompson received the first and only JuneFest Award of Excellence in 2010. Starting in 2011 the award was re-named the JT Award in Joyce’s honour.

 The 2017 JuneFest eBay auction will run the entire month of June. The first items will be up for auction starting June 1, 2017 at 10:00am am. New items will be posted throughout the month ending on June 30th.
